With any treatment, we understand there will to be questions you’d like to ask, thats why we have put together a list of the most commonly asked questions about our scar reduction treatment.
However feel free to contact us if you’d like to talk before booking an consultation or appointment.
We would love to be able to help everyone however that’s not always possible. If you are generally fit and well you are suitable, however you are unable to have treatment if:
- You have metal plates from surgery
- You have a history or keloid or hypertrophic scarring.
- Currently have active acne
- Accutane treatment in the last 6 months.
- Use of anticoagulants
We ensure the use of numbing cream in the treatment areas so at worse you feel a warm snap onto the skin.
We offer full consultations and bespoke treatment plans as each individual case is different, however superficial scarring will require less treatments than deeper scarring.
This is dependent on how deep your scars are or on skin laxity, a course of 3-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are usually recommended.
Generally you will start to see improvements 4 weeks after your first treatment.
Your aftercare advice will be bespoke to your treatment areas and fully explained by us. Aftercare includes:
- Avoid high levels of sun exposure/ sun beds and use of SPF
- Avoid saunas, steam rooms and excessive heat
- Avoid make up for 24 hours
- Bespoke products with be given for home use to maintain skin health
- Use of our complimentary recommended products
