Semi permanent make up is a non-surgical method of implanting pigments into shallow, dermal layers of the skin to create or enhance a cosmetic appearance.
Semi permanent make up usually lasts between 1 to 3 years, depending on your age, skin type and the main factor, exposure to UV rays from the sun or tanning beds. A top up is suggested every 6 to 12 months to keep your make up looking fresh.
With the help of topical anaesthetics there is minimal discomfort. Some clients feel nothing more than a prickly sensation.
Yes, it’s totally safe. The highest standards of hygiene are met. The use of a state of the art digital technology system excludes any risks of contra-infection. The pigments are non-allergenic, dermatologically safe and meet strict European medical standards.
It’s important that your skin is healthy and not compromised before your treatment so the following is advised:
- Do not take aspirin or anti-inflammatory medication such as Ibuprofen 2 days prior to your semi-permanent makeup appointment.
- Do not discontinue any medication before consulting your doctor.
- Do not drink alcohol 2 days before your enhancement.
- Do not use 1% Retin A skincare products close to the area to be treated for 6 weeks prior to your procedure.
- Do not use AHA skincare products close to the area to be treated for 4 weeks before your procedure.
- Avoid professional chemical peels close to the procedure site for 6 weeks prior to your procedure.
After the treatment the colour will look slightly darker initially but will lighten down to the desired shade within 5-7 days
Aftercare is discussed following your treatment. General advice is to keep the areas dry, avoid applying creams unless advised and avoid sun exposure.
